A Magical Evening of Literacy brings together corporate and community leaders, education influencers and friends of Share the Magic Foundation to learn more about the National Literacy Crisis and how Read with Malcolm literacy programs play a pivotal role in elevating reading levels among students falling below grade standards. Our dedicated Event Committee, led by John and Anna Collins Haber, were pivotal in planning the inspirational evening. The event took place at The Foundry at Puritan Mill on a special day for Share the Magic Foundation – it was Dr. Suess’ birthday and the beginning of National Reading Month. Combining the important literacy dates led to the creation of the 2024 theme, “Hats Off to Reading.” Guests were encouraged to wear their favorite piece of headwear along with their formal attire.

About Share the Magic Foundation

Since the Foundation’s inception in 2016, Read with Malcolm literacy programs have directly touched the lives of over 1,000,000 students across all 50 states and in 15 countries. In the previous academic year alone, over 508,000 students participated in Read with Malcolm literacy programs, and thousands of books were distributed. Yet, our journey has only just begun. With a staggering 65% of students globally struggling to read proficiently, the proceeds from A Magical Evening of Literacy will provide books and inclusive programming initiatives to young readers. Share the Magic Foundation’s impact would be possible without the support garnered by A Magical Evening of Literacy.
