A gala to benefit Captain Planet Foundation (CPF,) an award-winning, US-based NGO that works collaboratively to engage and empower young people to be problem solvers for the planet.

This year, awardees are Josh Bernstein of Discovery Channel’s Into the Unknown with Josh Bernstein and Oluwaseyi Peace Moejoh a young climate activist from Lagos, Nigeria. Gala co-Chairs in attendance include: Eunjae Kim Peralta-Ramos, Pat Mitchell, Clark Seydel, and Scott Seydel. Laura Turner Seydel and Rutherford Seydel will also be in attendance along with many of Atlanta’s most environmentally-minded and philanthropic individuals and companies.

Over the past 31 years, more than 1.6 million children have directly participated in CPF’s programs, which have funded 3,700+ projects, impacting 11.4 million young people from over 90 nations. The NGO was originally based on the critically-acclaimed animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers when it was co-founded in 1991 by media mogul Ted Turner and series executive producer Barbara Pyle. In 2002, CPF separated from TBS and became a 501(c)3 public charity. This gala recognizes environmental stewards. Past awardees include Jane Fonda for the organization’s 2022 Exemplar Award.
