Open Hand seeks to provide nutrition education and improved access to healthy food to area residents. Its home-delivered meals services are made free to more than 90 percent of clients. Most clients are from marginalized groups and 75 percent of the participants live below the federal level of livable incomes. Open Hand’s Second Annual Charity Golf Classic at Cherokee Town & Country Club raised $144,000 last year with the inaugural tournament. Sponsors included The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation and Mercedes-Benz.
