The museum serves to intentionally deepen Black people’s sense of connection to themselves and the greater diaspora through the lens of contemporary art and culture. This sense of belonging is embodied in tangible and intangible ways. Connection is our why and our how; as we seek it, it seeks us in return.

We refer to our programming as experiences. Far from a traditional program or event, we are dedicated to curating experiences that are dynamic, sensory-rich, and immersive global representations that are unapologetically centered around the Black experience and expression.
