Gala Chair Spotlight: Andrew Chang
The chair of the IMAGAINATION BALL benefiting The Children's Museum of Atlanta expects it will be one of the most anticipated galas of the year.
Atlantan Andrew Chang is the chief marketing officer for and the chair of this year’s Imagination gala benefiting the Atlanta Children’s Museum. Chang, the father of children ages 12 and 9, has been taking his daughter to the museum since she was an infant.
“There is so much that the museum does outside its walls in Downtown Atlanta, and it’s time that Atlanta recognizes this,” adding that the museum strives to make sure that all kids in the state of Georgia are involved in learning through play, and that all children with all socio-economic backgrounds have access to the museum. “It’s a small and safe space, the types of activities are good for all ages, adults down, which makes it easy to spend quality time with their kids. We want people to understand and realize – it’s not just a museum, it’s an entire ecosystem.”
The Children’s Museum of Atlanta features programming that welcomes children from public schools with all backgrounds, so that the gift of play and imagination can be accessible to all.
Chang says that this year’s ball will be one of the most anticipated galas of the year – where organizers will showcase innovative and interactive activities that entertain and inspire curiosity and imagination. The organizers are still tight-lipped about the entertainment, but years’ past saw an ariel acrobatics performance and a child author reading his book while a cellist improvised background music.
“It’s not just an event, it’s an unforgettable journey into the world of learning and creativity,” says Chang.
This year’s Imagination Ball benefiting The Children’s Museum of Atlanta is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 23 at The Eastern.
