Social Snapshot: Nancy Murphy
The president of Arts Alpharetta speaks to us in her own words.
Nancy Murphy is president of Arts Alpharetta, where she is focused on advancing Alpharetta as a cultural arts community. She’s also served as gallery coordinator for the City of Alpharetta’s Arts Center since 2018.
Murphy’s art teaching career spanned over 27 years, serving students ranging in age from pre-school through college across 4 states. She has held memberships in the National Art Educators Associations in North Carolina and Georgia. Murphy has participated in the current docent training at the High Museum of Art.
Murphy has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in art education with studio concentrations in painting, fiber art, and ceramics. She holds a Master Degree in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University.
